Footing
Numbers tell you how hard. Form tells you how safely. Footing reads both.
Footing connects your Strava runs to AI video analysis of your form. It flags fatigue, form breakdown and injury risk before they derail your training.

The problem
Runners chase PRs but get hurt because they can't see their form. They have every Strava number and no idea what it means for their body — and no one puts the two together.
Why now
I've coached distance runners for years, and the gap between data and wisdom never closed. AI can now read a 15-second clip and name what it sees — but only if you fuse it with the athlete's real training load and history. So I built the glue.
Why I'm building this
I'm building Footing because I've watched too many runners get hurt doing the work. They hit the volume, nail the paces, and break down anyway — not because they're weak, but because no one told them their form was collapsing in the back half or their load was spiking too fast. My watch sees the numbers. My camera sees the stride. I wanted them to talk.

How it works
Connect Strava
OAuth once. Footing reads your latest run's pace, heart rate, cadence and distance — no typing.
Record 15 seconds
Set the phone down, run past it side-on. The app sends the clip to AI vision.
Get one weekly brief
Numbers + form, weighed against your goal and injury history, return one clear plan — and a risk flag.
What it does
Weekly Brief
One brief fuses a run's form observations, your week's Strava metrics and your goal race into a single read: what was seen, why, what to do, and a green/amber/red injury-risk flag.
Form Check
Film 15 seconds side-on; AI vision reads your stride — trunk lean, arm carriage, vertical movement, cadence consistency — tagged by evidence strength and when it happened in the run.
Strava integration
Connect once. Footing extracts aerobic decoupling, cadence decay, average cadence and your acute:chronic workload ratio — computed metrics, not guesses.
Load & history tracking
Store injury history, weekly volume and your goal race. Briefs and form checks stack in a timeline so you can track stride patterns over weeks.

In build
Footing is in active development — Strava OAuth, the deterministic metric engine and AI video form analysis are wired end-to-end. App Store submission next.
Audience & signal
Distance runners (5k–marathon) with a Strava account and a goal race — especially those with a prior injury who'll film a short clip for form feedback.
- ·Fuses Strava metrics with AI form analysis — neither side alone does this
- ·Deterministic metrics (aerobic decoupling, ACWR, cadence decay) computed as testable code, not LLM guesses
- ·Strava OAuth + video AI wired end-to-end, worker deployed
- ·Founder is a running coach — the data-vs-wisdom gap is the design brief
